Our journey through time begins with the Romans, who settled at the bend in the Limmat. Even then, they gave the town a reputation that stretched far and wide. The next stage of the journey takes you through the Middle Ages, when Baden was granted a city charter and became the secret capital of the Swiss Confederation. Finally, in front of the historic city walls, you'll hear fascinating anecdotes from the time when the city hosted the Swiss Confederal Diet, establishing the city's tradition as a congress venue which continues to this day.
