The evolution of the transformer halls and visit of the vocational school BBB

Meeting point: Main entrance Trafo, Brown Boveri Platz
Duration: 1.5 hours
It is the success story of two pioneers from Baden who conquered the globe with the construction of steam and gas turbines as well as turbochargers. To this day, turbochargers from Brown + Boveri (BBC), now ABB, are still being used to power ocean-going vessels around the world and can be found on the seven seas. Discover anecdotes about the daily life of fascinating individuals from the industrial heyday: e.g. the crane operator Wanda Ferro-Azzali who was compelled to succeed in a male-dominated environment in the 1950s.

A fast-paced experience with exciting anecdotes about the first loft apartments, the bell of the porter's lodge, the "Härdöpfelbunker" (potato bunker), and the patrons' mansions.
