Since 2022, the historic spa and its spring water have been owned by the non-profit cooperative Liegenschaft Bad zum Raben. Supported by around 900 members, the cooperative's aim is to transform the historic spa into a lively, traditional cultural spa with access to natural thermal water, art and spa history by 2026/27.
Bagni Popolari has been working since 2018 on the revitalisation of the former hotel baths in Baden's 'Zum Raben' (1299 / renamed 'Hotel Schweizerhof' in 1865). The approach is twofold: in parallel with feasibility and project studies for a future municipal or cultural bath, the 'Bad zum Raben' will be used on a temporary and seasonal basis as an exhibition and art bath, not least to explore the social, cultural and spatial potential of this traditional bathing facility. The aim is to create a non-profit public bath for everyone. It will be realised in the field of tension between historical context, contemporary design and transdisciplinary programme. Become part of this unique story in Switzerland: you can become a member of the Raben cooperative here.
