On the Baldegg, 568 m.a.s.l. above Baden in the middle of magnificent forests, you can find the water tower of Baden. A spiral staircase with 172 steps leads up to the viewing platform which offers a 360-degree panoramic view across the Mittelland region to the Black Forest and from Mt. Säntis to the Jungfrau in the Bernese Oberland.
After enjoying the view, those who want to take a walk will find many walking paths and resting spots in the varied local recreation area. Making it ideal to relax for a few hours in the countryside.
For those who prefer sunbathing to walking, the terrace of the Baldegg Restaurant makes a lovely place to sit and bask. Right next door, there is a large playground where the children can play.
Things are even more laid-back in the Liegehalle Restaurant: Here, people in need of rest can recharge undisturbed and enjoy a bite to eat.
You can reach Baldegg by bus in only 15 minutes. Hop on line 5 from Baden railway station. Thanks to the short journey time, an excursion here is also great for a tight time schedule.
