Regional industrial history

The Limmat-Wasserschloss industrial heritage trail leads from Wettingen to Brugg and past many contemporary witnesses of industrialisation. 44 pictures and text panels also tell of pioneers, technical innovations and industrial production in the canton of Aargau.
The entire industrial heritage trail is 35 kilometres long, because there is a lot to tell! Of course, it can also be tackled in smaller stages. One of them leads from Baden to Ennetbaden. Along the way you will find the representative villas of Baden's prosperous bourgeoisie, such as the Villa Boveri, former home of the co-founder of BBC, Walter Boveri. There are also power stations, for example in the Au, which still supply industry with energy today. There are old factory buildings to be spotted, which are now having new life breathed into them. One example is the Oederlin site, a former foundry in Ennetbaden, where an increasing number of creative startups and even a brewery have set up business in recent years.

The Baden Historical Museum can be contacted for guided tours along the industrial heritage trail.
The industrial heritage trail is supported by the "Melonen-Schnitz" association, which sponsors and supports the Baden Historical Museum.
