Holistic wellness in the spa town

Did you know?

In Baden, thermal water bubbles up from 18 different springs and, at around 47°C, is among the warmest in Switzerland. It is also the most mineral-rich and rises naturally to the surface from depths of up to 1200 meters. During its millennia-long journey through the rock, it enriches itself with valuable minerals such as calcium, iron, iodine, sulfur, zinc, and magnesium. This 'liquid gold' provides soothing warmth and natural energy – a unique gift from nature.

2000 years of spa history

Even the Romans attributed healing properties to the 47°C warm water and founded the settlement 'Aquae Helveticae' at the Limmat knee.

European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA)

Since February 2026, the town of Baden has been a member of the European Historic Thermal Towns Association, or EHTTA for short. This association brings together significant spa towns from across Europe that can look back on centuries of spa traditions and are actively shaping a sustainable future for tourism.
