A paradise for wine lovers

A hidden treasure awaits you: picturesque vineyards, passionate winemakers, and unforgettable taste experiences. Let Baden's flourishing wine tradition enchant you and discover what makes the region so special. From Baden city wine to the Goldwand winery and cool wine merchants like Cortis and Barrique Baden – there's plenty to explore and enjoy here. Cheers!

The Goldwand – History and Delight

The Goldwand in Aargau has been a magnet for pleasure and relaxation for centuries. As far back as 2,000 years ago, the Romans discovered healing thermal springs here. This unique geology gives the wines of the Goldwand their distinctive character.

The Baden City Wine

On the terraced steep slopes of the Goldwand, around 15,000 bottles of Baden City Wine are produced on 2.4 hectares. Mainly made from Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir) grapes, it delights as Federweiss, barrel selection, or Reserve Barrique.

Family Wetzel – Winemaking with Passion

The Wetzel family is a cornerstone of Baden's winemaking tradition. For generations, they have lived their passion for wine. Today, the brothers Jürg, Martin, and Michael run three wineries in the region, supported by the next generation. Here, wine is not just produced, but lived.

Jürg Wetzel runs the Jürg Wetzel Winery in Gebenstorf, Villigen and Birmenstorf. On three hectares, high-quality red and white wines are cultivated, including the popular Cuvée Génération.

Since 1986, Martin Wetzel and his wife have been producing first-class wines in Würenlos. Their steep vineyards, descending towards the Limmat River at the Wetzel Winery, offer ideal conditions for premium wines.

For the past 35 years, Michael Wetzel has been leading the "Goldwand" winery above the Limmat bend. On 9.2 hectares, exquisite wines are produced, which can be tasted at wine tastings and the popular "Trottentage" in the old Spitaltrotte. Here, tradition and enjoyment come together.

WeinStern Wettingen

The winemakers of WeinStern Wettingen tend to their vineyards on 5.2 hectares following eco-friendly guidelines. The calcareous soil and intense sunlight give their wines a unique character.

Cortis Swiss Wines

Since 1997, Cortis has been synonymous with Swiss wine enjoyment. Daniel Cortellini offers over thirty distinctive wines from the best Swiss winemakers and organizes delightful events and tastings.

Barrique Baden – Atelier du vin

The French wine shop Barrique Baden is the meeting place for wine lovers. Here, you can enjoy exquisite wines from Switzerland and around the world. The stylish wine shop and the cozy vaulted cellar invite you to spend delightful, wine-filled hours.
